Last week, we shared some of the milestone moments of the Our Force 1 Collection.
So what happens now?
Here’s the play-by-play: We took a snapshot of everyone with a .SWOOSH ID. Some .SWOOSH members were randomly selected to receive an airdropped Our Force 1 (OF1) Poster to their BitGo wallet. The poster is a virtual creation that also acts as a mint pass which gives you first access to purchase the OF1 Box.
So, what does that all mean? To get you ready for what’s to come, here’s a list of the key terms you might like to know as we get going, as well as a summary of the Airdrop process.
.SWOOSH DICTIONARY
Wallet: A wallet holds the keys that unlock access to your digital assets, which are stored on the blockchain. In our world, your wallet is created and managed by BitGo (a third-party wallet provider) as part of the .SWOOSH onboarding process.
Token: A token is a digital asset that is stored on the blockchain.
Nike Virtual Creation: On .SWOOSH, we refer to tokens as Nike Virtual Creations, which include digital sneakers, apparel, accessories and other collectibles you can wear in games or redeem for access to exclusive products, events, and more.
Snapshot: A snapshot is a record of the blockchain taken at a set moment in time. Snapshots are most commonly used for capturing allowlists, aka lists of wallets eligible to receive an airdrop or mint a token.
Airdrop: An airdrop is a method of sending a token to a wallet for free, like a gift.
Utility: Some Nike Virtual Creations are equipped with utility — unique benefits, such as special access to products, experiences, and more.
Mint Pass: A mint pass is a form of utility that provides access to exclusive virtual drops.
Trade-in: When you trade-in your poster, that item is no longer accessible — to anyone. The token does not come back to Nike, it is sent to an inaccessible wallet, which means it is permanently removed from supply and there is no getting it back.
First Access vs General Access: .SWOOSH members who received the OF1 Poster airdrop will have First Access, or priority for purchasing our first drop of virtual creations — the OF1 Box. After the First Access sale, any remaining OF1 Boxes will be purchasable in a General Access sale, available to all .SWOOSH members.
Generative: “Generative” virtual creations are produced via autonomous systems, like a computer algorithm. In our world, the OF1 Boxes will contain Nike Virtual Creations that do not exist in the physical world, all inspired by the Air Force 1’s legacy.
Reveal: The “reveal” moment is when all .SWOOSH members will be able to digitally unseal their mystery boxes to discover which virtual creation lies inside.
